Please specify when you order if you would like a low sounding bamboo flute, a high pitch flute, a traditional six hole flute, or a flute with four, five, or eight holes. Also, you may specify the internal diameter. Please be warned that the flute will be approximately the length, diameter, and number of holes you select (plus hole width). Since every piece of bamboo is unique, each instrument will sound unique. If you are not satisfied, we will send you a new one free of charge (you pay shipping and handling costs only!). Every instrument we make is under a lifetime warranty, and we are interested in producing a flute that will please you.
These are handcrafted bamboo flutes that can play two registers, high and low. Here is an audio clip of me playing a bamboo flute:
The didgeridoo is an ancient instrument from Aboriginal culture in Australia. All didgeridoos I make have a story connected to the imagery on them. I can make you a traditional didgeridoo with the designs from the Medicine Wheel, a very ancient Native American spiritual symbol based on earth astrology (according to Sun Bear's book, The Medicine Wheel. In addition to being an interesting instrument, your personalized didgeridoo (made according to your moon) can serve as a symbol of your spiritual energy as you live your life. Connecting with the animal and natural world according to your moon will give you revitalized energy. To see your moon according to Sun Bear's vision, click the medicine wheel link. You may order a painted didgeridoo and contact me at bamboosoundorders@yahoo.com after purchasing one and let me know your moon so I can make the appropriate totems and symbols on your didgeridoo. You do not have to embrace any specific religious views to learn from the medicine wheel teachings. These teachings promoted by Sun Bear are ways to connect with the earth and nature in a creative way.
In addition to making didgeridoos (natural and painted according to the Medicine Wheel), I have made many other didgeridoos. Two recent additions are Aquamarine Rainforest and Desert Passion. The black on Aquamarine Rainforest symbolizes the nighttime jungle. The aquamarine symbolizes rain, which brings life to earth. None of my didgeridoos is factory made, and the bamboo comes from a local bamboo forest in the United States. Therefore, every bamboo didgeridoo is different; however, if you are looking for a wider or narrower one, I can design a didgeridoo according to your wishes. Too often, people just purchase a didgeridoo without knowing that there is actually a story behind the abstract images painted on it--a story tied to nature and to our connections to the universe. The stories that are painted onto my didgeridoos have to deal with nature, the earth, and the path we have in life. With each painted didgeridoo, you will receive a story of the symbols of the didgeridoo and their spiritual significance. These stories do not come from any outside source, except for the human spirit and the visions I have when I make a didgeridoo.
The didgeridoo is referred to as an aerophone by musicologists. Some didgeridoos are 3 meters in length. I am able to make a bamboo didgeridoo according to the length that you desire. I have several lengths available:

The mouthpiece is handcarved and covered with 100% natural beeswax to make playing comfortable. Painted didgeridoos cost more because there is more time put into the construction of the didgeridoo (several coats of paint). These didgeridoos are not made under sweatshop conditions, nor are they mass produced. Each design on painted didgeridoos is unique, so there are no replicas.
The didgeridoo is considered to be the world's oldest wind instrument. In the Northern Territory of Australia, cave paintings have been found with images of didgeridoo players. Yirdaki is the traditional name for the didgeridoo in Arnhem Land; however, there are other names for this instrument in other regions of Aboriginal Australia. Eucalyptus, bamboo, and pandanus trees have been used to make didgeridoos.

I can play the didgeridoo for more than 40 minutes without making any interruptions between notes. To play the didgeridoo successfully, you must master the technique of circular breathing. I have met individuals who have claimed to go back to their first breath and have seen visions of past lives while playing the didgeridoo. You must breath deeply by using your abdominal muscles, a technique which many Taoists employ in meditation referred to as pre-natal breathing. Some have maintained that the didgeridoo prevents sleep apnea and snoring, but I find that the effects of the didgeridoo resonate on a more spiritual level.
One word of advice for novice didgeridoo players or people learning the didgeridoo for the first time: a six foot didgeridoo requires more skill to play than a shorter didgeridoo. First of all, you must blow hard enough for air to travel to the end of the didgeridoo. This is difficult for beginners because they often end up blowing too hard, which makes it impossible for them to make a sound because they are too tense. If you keep in mind that you must be relaxed, you will still be able to play the six foot didgeridoo with patience and determination as long as you keep the tips below in mind as you experiment and learn to play. Six foot long didgeridoos are extremely beautiful and can also be interesting items to place in your home. Learning to play them is even more challenging, and they can produce very beautiful sounds. In fact, learning to play on a longer didgeridoo will make it a breeze to play on shorter didgeridoos. Playing a longer didgeridoo is also the gateway to a more skilled control of your breathing and induces a meditative state easier.
